PECO customers in the Greater Philadelphia region used the most electricity for the year yesterday. PECO (NYSE:EXC) said it delivered 152.3 million kilowatt hours of electricity (kwh) Tuesday as energy usage rose with the hotter weather. PECO’s record for electric consumption in one day is 163.3 million kwh back in July 1999.

Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced today that it has been awarded an additional option year on a contract from the U.S. Army to improve performance and extend the life of the AGT1500 turbine engine that powers the M1 Abrams tactical vehicle.

Terex Corporation (NYSE: TEX) today announced that the previously announced agreement in principle it has reached with the Staff of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (”SEC”), has now been approved by the Commission. This agreement is subject to court approval, and will become final upon entry by the court of a final decree. This settlement concludes the SEC’s investigation of Terex related mainly to (1) certain transactions between Terex and United Rentals, Inc. that took place in 2000 and 2001, and one transaction between United Rentals, Inc. and one of Terex’s subsidiaries that took place in 2001 before that subsidiary was acquired by Terex, and (2) the circumstances of the restatement of certain of Terex’s financial statements for the years 2000-2004.

Adams Resources & Energy, Inc. (NYSE Amex: AE) announced second quarter 2009 unaudited net earnings of $2,734,000 or $.65 per common share. Revenues for the quarter totaled $515,070,000. Current earnings compare to unaudited second quarter 2008 net earnings of $4,825,000 or $1.15 per common share. For the six months ended June 30, 2009, net earnings were $4,604,000 or $1.09 per common share.

Omnicity Corp (OTCBB:OMCY) has signed an agreement with ABC Hi Def, LLC which allows ABC Hi Def to perform residential installations for Omnicity and market Omnicity’s services to ABC’s customer base of over 15,000 satellite television subscribers. ABC Hi Def will also include Omnicity’s wireless Internet services in its offerings to new Dish Network and DIRECTV customers. Greg Jarman, CEO of Omnicity, commented: “This should be a great complement to our operations and, by utilizing ABC Hi Def’s substantial sales force, should help drive sales far beyond our own marketing and direct sales efforts. It will help us accelerate subscriber growth and revenue.”

Medtronic, Inc. (NYSE: MDT) announced today the U.S. launch of the T2 SCEPTOR(TM) Distractible End Cleats System. The T2 SCEPTOR system is a vertebral body replacement device intended for use in the thoracic and lumbar spine (T1-L5) to replace a collapsed, damaged or unstable vertebral body due to tumor or trauma, such as a fracture.
